In the 1950s, our beloved Opa and Oma immigrated from Stuttgart, Germany to the quaint town of Echo Bay, Ontario. Opa had a passion for baking, and his soft pretzels quickly became a family favorite, gracing every special occasion with their warm, golden presence.

As grandchildren, we eagerly awaited the moments when Opa’s Pretzels would emerge from the oven, filling the house with their irresistible aroma. These pretzels were more than just a treat; they were a symbol of family, tradition, and love.

After Opa’s passing, we knew we had to keep his legacy alive. We continued making his cherished pretzels, ensuring the tradition stayed strong within our family. However, when we moved to London, Ontario, we were disappointed to find a lack of authentic pretzels. Driven by a craving and a bit of nostalgia, we decided to make a batch of pretzels for our friends. To our delight, everyone raved about them, insisting they were the best pretzels they had ever tasted. Their enthusiasm sparked an idea and ignited our passion to bring Opa’s Pretzels to everyone!

And so, Opa’s Pretzels was born. With each twist of dough, we honor Opa’s memory and share a piece of our family’s history. Get twisted with Opa’s Pretzels and experience a bite of tradition and love in every twist!
